Kym is General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at Consilium Sciences, LLC.
Kym has three decades of executive experience in managing litigation, compliance, human resources, compliance and regulatory functions.
Kym joined Consilium after serving as Vice-President, Human Resources, Legal and Sustainability for Silgan Dispensing Systems, a global company specializing in the manufacture and sale of plastic injection molded dispensing solutions. During her tenure, she architected scalable systems and processes to support the company’s rapid global growth.
Prior to her role with SDS, Kym was VP and Associate General Counsel for for WestRock Company (formerly MeadWestvaco) a publicly traded company specializing in paper and packaging solutions. In that role, Kym led a legal team managing the company’s global litigation docket, providing advice and counsel on a wide range of commercial topics and supporting the company’s compliance programming. During her thirteen years with the company, Kym managed successful litigation outcomes on large and small matters spanning intellectual property, product liability and mass torts, personal injury, antitrust, employment, trade secrets, construction, contracts and tax issues.
Prior to her roles with SDS and WestRock, Kym worked at Massey Energy Company, serving as Special Counsel to the President Don Blankenship and Senior Counsel managing the company’s litigation and claims dockets.
She began her career as an associate at Squire, Sanders and Dempsey in Columbus, Ohio in employment litigation and later became partner with Stoll, Keenon & Park in Lexington, Kentucky. She litigated employment discrimination and tort claims (fatalities and catastrophic injuries) and worked with clients to create internal programs to manage risk through policies and training. Kym served as a frequent speaker on managing employment issues and litigation tactics.
Kym received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. in Political Science and French, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Millsaps College. Kym is a member of the Virginia bar and a past member of the Kentucky and Ohio bars.
